The Bedroom Window

You turn out the light and lay down for a good night sleep. You never suspect what might be there, lurking and waiting. What would you do if you knew that it was only a few steps away? Something watching your every move.

Do you feel its eyes on you? Where do you think it is? What is it? Are you all alone? Heh, you're not scared. Things like the supernatural have never bothered you. Shadowy figures never held any interest in your thoughts. After all, you're an adult now. You can drift off to a good night sleep without any fear of the night.

But wait! You are startled from your sleep by a sound at the window! Do you dare go and check? Go ahead. Pull back the curtains and look out. What will you find there? Will there be a face looking back in at you? Or will you be met by an intense darkness that hides the things that exist in the night?

How will you do it? Will you rip the curtain back as quick as you can to fool yourself into thinking you have no fear? What kind of shock will that bring when you so suddenly meet it face to face. Or will you pull the curtain back slowly to see it little by little? Maybe then it will know you're coming and prepare something especially hideous for you.

So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and do it. Do it! Look out your bedroom window. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones.

I learned a long time ago to whip open the curtains and boldly stare out. I decided that if something is out there then it doesn't matter what you do anyway. :)

  2. I always figure if they want me, they have to find me first. No opening the drapes for me.

But you'll never know what's out there if you don't look.

  4. It's when the curtains open on their own you have to begin to have concerns .... it happened to me,only once but once was really enough!!

I agree. Inanimate objects moving on their own is never a good thing. I've had a few strange things happen to me too. Some of them may even appear in a few stories here. Not ever fun at the time.

  6. One of the great things about invisibility cloaks is that no one including creepie crawlies sees you. I don't rate. I have nothing to fear.

An invisibility cloak might be just the thing for a creepy window dweller, but I'm not sure I'd want to find out.

  8. This is good Ratty...I NEVER close my bedroom curtains...maybe I have a deep down fear of what could hide behind them?!??!

I completely understand that. My fear makes me keep mine closed so no one or nothing can watch me. But I make a point of looking out to shatter any fear that remains.

Having a dog out there helps. I'd also rather see the face of a burglar than the face of a ghoul or some odd thing like that.
